I believe in continuing my professional development and I am currently enrolled in the three-year dynamic psychotherapy training program at

Experience

Since 2020 I have been working as a therapist in private practice. I also have extensive social work experience in clinical and community settings in Israel.

I worked as a clinical social worker at Ram Bam Hospital in Haifa, in a boarding school for youth in distress near Haifa and with the elderly in various settings. I established and directed two regional centers in the North for the prevention and treatment of elder abuse.

For the past two years, I have been working as a private psycho-dynamic therapist in my clinic in Northern Tel Aviv. I see clients in person in my office or on Zoom by their request.

About Clinic

About the Clinic

I offer in-person and online consultations to adults of all ages, both Israeli and American.
I speak Hebrew and English fluently.

Most of my clients are young adults, professionals or students, coping with difficult
issues, stressors and conflicts. These might include anxiety, depression, past trauma,
family issues, relationships and transitions (Aliyah, Olim, career, family relationships,
Gap year). I welcome and support the LGBTQ community. I work with individuals and
couples from different religious beliefs, backgrounds and nationalities.

I believe in creating a warm, safe, non-judgmental space for my clients where they will
be able to talk about issues, work on them and feel empowered. I am holistic in my
approach and view 'wellness' as including a wide range of concepts, among them
empowerment, self-care and self-validation.

My clinical approach is based on psychodynamic therapy, narrative therapy and systems
therapy. Therapy is an empowering process where we take time to explore the past and
how these experiences do shape and impact your current feelings, thoughts and beliefs.
Talking about your feelings, in particular those arising in conflictual situations, is
important as it helps develop a stronger sense of validation of self, self-worth an self-
confidence.

Having made Aliyah years ago I am aware of the complexity of adjusting to a new
country and this often comes up in therapy.

I have very flexible hours and open availability. To make an appointment (or for a brief
pre-appointment telephone consultation) please contact me on the link below .I will get in
touch within the next business day. My office is located in Tel Aviv.

I hope to see you soon and begin our journey.

Shalom and warm regards,

Debbie Shlider, MSW
